About Me

My photo
I currently am a sophomore at the University of South Alabama. I am from Arkansas and came to the University to play basketball on a full scholarship. I love having a great time with friends and just relaxing. I am always on the go and a very busy person. My family, friends, and god are the most important to me and I don't know what I would do without them.

Homework for March 7

Randy Pausch's Lecture and Dreams

Randy Pausch is a very uplifting and strong person. When he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he wasn't given to many more months to live. Out of all the things he was going through, he still found the time to share with people the importance of your dreams. Without dreams, what would be the things we would think about? In his lecture, he started talking about his childhood years and the great family that he was blessed with. He never once stopped dreaming and reaching for his goals.

Randy had many dreams and goals that he wanted to accomplish. He mentioned some great tools that we as teachers need to use in the classrooms and to motivate our students. I really liked when he talked about the first year he ever taught. The students were very bright and he was no expecting that. So, he decided to challenge them and push them to their greatest potential. He never once put a limit on his students abilities. We as teachers do not need to settle for basic, we need to allow our students to be bright minded so that they can grow and become a better person.

He was also very involved and helping in his students academic lives. He cared about the progress that they were making. He was a very passionate teacher and i believe this helped him as well as his students to give respect for one another. He created chemistry with his students and not only the students learned, but him as well. He never once backed down from a challenge but took it into something that would turn into great progress.

The last things he talked about really caught my eye. He compared us in life to a Tiger or Eeyore. What a you going to do with your life. Just sitting back and not taking chances will get you know where. Life should be full of challenges and learning from your mistakes. The things become you shouldn't give up, it should just make you stronger. This video really opened my eyes to life its self. Everything said made since and happens almost in everyones life. Everyones is face with decisions, so will you be the one that makes the wrong or right one.

Comment4kids

This week for comment4kids, I had Samary and in the blog it talked about how slavery was an issue back then and how much things have changed. The blog had some very interesting parts and i think they did a great job! These kids are really learning new and interesting information in the classrooms.
