Skype Project 6

I started to use skype back in November when my grandparents had just gotten it and wanted to communicate to me while I was in college. My parents and I both have macs so we just use ichat so we can see each other. I really do enjoy using skype and its a great tool to talk to friends and family. When my grandparents first got skype they did not know how to use it so when I saw them at Christmas I got to help them and introduce how it worked. The love it. Skype can also be used in many different ways and helpful for face to face talking. Many people are using skype around the world and I really believe its a good new tool being used.

March 28 Homework

Morgan Bayda's
points were very enjoyable to read. Some teachers don't really know how to change and to use new technology. It would be something new and some teachers aren't willing to put out to effort to teach it. New technology can really help in the classroom and make the lectures or teachings in the classrooms more interesting. Me being a student myself don't really like boring lectures of the teacher just standing up and teaching. To be a great teacher, using change and technology can help students learn better in the classrooms. In my two years that I have been in college, everything while learning as been the same. The lectures are always boring and its hard to pay attention sometimes. New technology can really help change for the future.

Homework for March 12 week 9

Alex

ALEX stands for Alabama Learning Exchange and provides very acknowledge website to help teachers. Some examples of things to find in the website are lesson plans, the course of study you are trying to fulfill, and personal learning sites that can help you use new tools in the classrooms. Also, it shows the latest news and provides opportunities for you as a teacher. If needed help while looking through this website, the help icon can help you with what you are looking for. It can always help you with your questions and the areas you are having problems with.

After spending time in the website, I really got to browse and explore in many different areas. I believe that this website is very useful and can help us as future teachers. While I was looking into all this information, I was thinking to myself what could really help me become a successful teacher in the classroom. Everything on this website could help you become a great teacher. Even while looking through the lesson plans, it gives you ideas that you can start off with or even use for the classroom.

Access

Access is a website that allows both teachers and students to connect. This also is a very positive way for students to learn as well as the teachers. If students are having problems, this allows the teachers to interact and get a better feel of how their students are feeling and what areas they are struggling in. Also, this is a new tool for the students and the teachers so that the teachers will become more successful as well as the students.

Some of the links in Access that are provided are the Educators, Students, Technical Support and the Courses. The website also provides updates and allows you to see what is going on through the whole website. The classrooms are being able to link to one another so everyone can learn from eachother. I believe that this a great tool that can really help and teach our students and teachers for the better.

Comments for kids
After reading over the entire blog, my classroom and kids that I checked up on were learning about wildlife in the classroom. The kids seem to be very interested and exciting to learn new things. The teacher is doing a great job!

Homework for March 7

Randy Pausch's Lecture and Dreams

Randy Pausch is a very uplifting and strong person. When he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he wasn't given to many more months to live. Out of all the things he was going through, he still found the time to share with people the importance of your dreams. Without dreams, what would be the things we would think about? In his lecture, he started talking about his childhood years and the great family that he was blessed with. He never once stopped dreaming and reaching for his goals.

Randy had many dreams and goals that he wanted to accomplish. He mentioned some great tools that we as teachers need to use in the classrooms and to motivate our students. I really liked when he talked about the first year he ever taught. The students were very bright and he was no expecting that. So, he decided to challenge them and push them to their greatest potential. He never once put a limit on his students abilities. We as teachers do not need to settle for basic, we need to allow our students to be bright minded so that they can grow and become a better person.

He was also very involved and helping in his students academic lives. He cared about the progress that they were making. He was a very passionate teacher and i believe this helped him as well as his students to give respect for one another. He created chemistry with his students and not only the students learned, but him as well. He never once backed down from a challenge but took it into something that would turn into great progress.

The last things he talked about really caught my eye. He compared us in life to a Tiger or Eeyore. What a you going to do with your life. Just sitting back and not taking chances will get you know where. Life should be full of challenges and learning from your mistakes. The things become you shouldn't give up, it should just make you stronger. This video really opened my eyes to life its self. Everything said made since and happens almost in everyones life. Everyones is face with decisions, so will you be the one that makes the wrong or right one.

PLN Project 4

1st PLN POST
Not sure why, but my PLN did not show up on my other post, so here is a new post.

After reading and finding information about my Personal Learning Network, I really started to understand and get a better feel for what is asked. I started looking on the list for teachers that Dr. Strange gave us and found some really interesting things. You can look at peoples pages and learning from what is being taught. I could really learn great things that could help me in the classroom setting as a future teacher.

2nd PLN POST
After keeping up with my PLN for a few months, I have learned a lot of things from the teachers and what they use in the classroom. I twittered some teachers that i had some questions about and they gave me some great advice on their twitter. Also, i learned from some teachers about how all of the technology used such as blogs, Facebook, and twitter can really improve students learning in the classroom.
